Doing and Re-doing ...

Today's task:  Pick up the long pry bar and tear apart the ceiling framing I was so proud of last week.

I've never claimed framing to me my strong suit.  Matter of fact, this is the first framing project I've ever done.  It's a labor of love.  And desperation.  Making a dog-grooming salon out of half our detached garage. Because those shi tzus and pomeranians and westies are the family income.  I've been assisting my wife in that business for the past year.  The brick-and-mortar Lori and her partner lease now is too expensive.  And the partnership is eroding.  So the idea is to set up shop here at home.

This is what I enjoy ... writing.  Reading.  Commenting.  And as soon as I'm finished with the garage project, I'll use the extra 2x4s I bought to build my voiceover studio.  I've got my AT2020 mic that I can't wait to flip on in my quiet little island.  The idea of having it done by the time my son arrives for the holidays from Philadelphia is palpably forming in my gut like a pearl.

But today ... back out to the garage to take part of the ceiling and re-work it before we (translation: yours truly) put up the sheetrock.

I know some of you may have wondered where I've been for the past several months. Once the shop is up and running, I'll be back in the forums seeking to learn and improve my craft.

Til then, the two steps forward and one back as I improve my carpentry skills.

<sigh>

Now to that ceiling.
